Integrate Rise.ai with AfterShip Returns

Plans: Premium, Enterprise Platforms: Shopify

Overview

Rise.ai is an automated Gift Card & Store Credit solution for Shopify stores, designed to manage all your brand's re-engagement activity.

Rise.ai’s integration with AfterShip Returns allows you to set up a workflow on Rise.ai to automatically issue store credit to customers when a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is processed for a refund to store credit on AfterShip Returns. This efficiently eliminates the hassle of issuing multiple Shopify gift card codes for each refund request and streamlines the process of using store credit for future purchases on the merchant's platform.

Click View more apps, and you will be redirected to the AfterShip Returns integration page.

Find Rise.ai and click on it to land on the detailed integration page.
Click Install app.

Select the right organization (online store) if you have multiple organizations configured in AfterShip Returns (Optional) for which you are establishing this integration.
To install the Rise.ai app, select the Store URL and click Install app to authenticate the connection.

You can view all the connected apps under the Apps section in your AfterShip Returns admin

Set up a workflow on Rise.ai to issue store credit

Once your Rise.ai account is successfully connected to AfterShip Returns, a custom trigger named AfterShip Returns trigger will be created under the Rise.ai workflow settings that will automatically trigger the store credits when AfterShip Returns posts an event of Refund to store credit.

Go to Workflows on the side menu in your Rise.ai admin and click Create workflow.
Scroll down and select Create your own template to create your workflow from scratch.
Name the workflow for easy reference from the top bar.

Under the custom triggers section, select AfterShip Returns Trigger.
From the preview window, select Add action > Issue Store Credit.
Select the credit type to Percentage of. If you wish to refund the full value of the return, set the percentage to 100 of the Total Refund Amount. You can change the percentage value and percentage value of the amount you want to return based on your preference.
Set an expiration date for the store credit or add a note when the store credit is issued(Optional).
Move to the Notifications tab and set the template you want to send to your customers.

Test the workflow from the top right corner and Save the changes.

Set up refund resolution in AfterShip Returns

Once the Rise.ai account is connected to AfterShip Returns and the workflow to issue store credit when an RMA for a refund to store credit on AfterShip Returns is processed, you need to configure the refund resolution method for store credit issuance to Rise.ai under AfterShip Returns’ Refunds and exchanges settings.

Go to Refunds and exchanges in AfterShip Returns admin
Update the store credit issue method in Return policy > Refund and exchanges > Refund to store credit via eCommerce platform gift card to Rise.ai.

Returns management

Once all settings are configured, test an RMA with the Refund to store credit resolution method to ensure the settings are in order.

1. Manually refund store credit to a customer

Go to Returns in AfterShip Returns admin
On the returns management dashboard, select the RMA request with the refund to store credit resolution

You can sort and filter RMA data by RMA no., request date, status resolution, shipping status, customer, country/ region, and item tag to help you quickly find the requests you are looking for.

Once the RMA request is selected, you will land on the RMA detail page, Approve or Reject the request based on your returns policy. You can see the Refund to store credit alongside the Resolution field
Once the RMA request is approved, you can either Mark as received or Refund it
Proceed with Refund
A side panel with all the details to issue a gift card will open. Audit all the information, adjust the total amount of the refund to be issued as store credit, and click Issue gift card.

Click Refund to confirm

2. Auto-refund store credit to a customer

Similar to the standard method of refunding to store credit, merchants can configure an automation rule that triggers refunds to store credit automatically upon meeting specific conditions.
The entire value of the returned item will be refunded in full as the total amount.
