How to Display Taxes, Product Pricing, And Shipping Charges on Your Returns Page

Shoppers always want to check the full breakdown of the total amount before making a purchase because it gives them clarity on product pricing, shipping charges, and taxes. It helps them while returning or exchanging a product and also prevents money-related disagreements.

Shopify store owners can easily show a breakdown of the total amount on their returns page created via AfterShip Returns Center.

➡️ Scenario 1: Show the cost of returns only

If you only want to show the cost of returns to customers, follow these steps:

Go to your AfterShip Returns Center account’s Return methods section

Choose any return method (if you have created more than one) and go down to select any return option


Look for the Display section and then choose either Free or Custom, depending on whether you charge for returns or not


Once done, click Save

Now, this is how your returns page will look to customers:

➡️ Scenario 2: Show the cost of returns along with the taxable amount

Well, you can show the cost of returns along with the taxable amount if you follow the aforementioned steps and make a minor change in your Shopify account's settings as explained below:

Go to your Shopify admin’s Settings

Scroll down to Taxes and duties

Look for Tax calculations and uncheck the All prices include tax option if it’s checked


Click Save to let your changes go live
